Barcelona and Madrid, Spain
diary / 25 June 2008

17-24 June 2008
Barcelona and Madrid (and Toledo)
I also wanted to go to south like Córdoba, Granada and Sevilla but I didn't go. There're some reasons. I couldn't use so much money only for Spain and I didn't want to be in hurry all the time. Like I have to move city to city every 2 days or something. Like a JAPANESE TOURISTS.
This must've been holiday, both phisically and mentally, you know.

Barcelona
Estadi Camp Nou -
Camo Nou, one of the most famous stadium in the world, is known as the home stadium of FC Barcelona.
I totally overwhelmed. And I bought a jersey because I was like I wanted use some money for them to support.
It seems they're planning to make the studium new in the near future.

Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya -
South part of the Barcelona city, on the hill called Montjuïc.
I don't remember much about which means that was not intersting for me.
I realized I haven't any interest in Jesus Christ's painting probably because I don't know anything about it and I don't want either.

Fundació Joan Miró -
This museum is also on the Montjuïc hill, near the Catalunya Museum and about 15 minutes by foot.
Special exhibision was there only small place though. Art of Japanese guy called Kohei Nawa(名和晃平, なわ こうへい).
He put the beads on the stuffs, like animals, instruments, toy tank....looks cool.

Museu Picasso -
The most interesting thing is, he mastered how to draw when he was only 9 years old or something and after that his drawing was going to be like a kid.
Totally opposite from normal people who draws something.

Casa Milà -
Famous building designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí.
This is so unique building and could be possible to say this is a sculpture.

Temple de la Sagrada Familia -
The very first impressin I had there was "oh it's really still under construction"

Parc Güell -
It was not supposed to be but now it's just a park. It's amazing how it looks different from the others and how it attracts us.

Barceloneta -
This is the beach in the east part of the Barcelona. I whised I could've been there whole one day.

Las Ramblas -

There're a lot of street performers and Paella restraurants along this street.
The picture below was one of the performer, who do you call, he stops his every motion even the eye blink and lookes like he's never going to move.

Then to Madrid, from AVE, Spanish Express.
It took only 2 and half hours. Really fast. There're not as much to see during running from window as I was expected.

Madrid
Museo Nacional del Prado -
It was nothing more than disappointment for me.
Just boring. Nothing to say.

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina SofÍa -
This modern art museum was famous for Guernica(ゲルニカ) painted by Picasso and five hundreds times more interesting than Prado. Truly
I went there on Sunday and entrance fee was free.

Caixa Forum
I stopped at this museum by accident and I think now, something led me to go this museum.
It was exhibition about Alphonse Mucha and he was an art painter or illustrator.
when I saw his works I was like "oh my god".
His works are so new even he was born in 1860 and most of his works are hundred-year-old.
I mean I coundn't believe that he drew them hundred years ago.
I say he's the best illustrator I've ever seen before, all include Japanese Manga writers.

Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
http://www.museothyssen.org/thyssen/
The works of art that can be seen this museum have been collected by this Bornemisza family. His enormous private collection are really great.
Temporal exhibition of Avigdor Arikha, this was also good.

Bullfighting
It ended up this is a game to kill an animal just for fun, how brilliantly, how gorgeusly, I think that. 6 bulls in a 2 hours show.
I don't say Spanish people're brute or something.
The price's from €4 up to over €100. It differs which floor you'd like to and the place under the shadow or not.
